New Home Tour #2 Living Room

I am excited to share our living room with you this week. This was the first area that hubby tackled.  I helped in between painting the Kitchen Cabinets. We painted the trim in Benjamin Moore's Gunsmith Gray.  The walls were done in Sherwin Williams' Oyster.  We are using those colors around the first floor and hallway areas.
The curtains are Tobacco Cloth Curtains I bought from Family-Heirloom-Weavers
I love them!
This is the view as you walk through the front door.

In the pic below is my "New" furniture.
I prayed for this furniture, and it was so exciting to see my prayers answered right down to the color!  Hubby and I had been looking for this style furniture ever since we made an offer on this house.  It is so expensive!  We have never paid that much money on furniture,, and it would have been hard to do it now.  We thought about saving up for it, but we needed furniture for this room.  You see, this house has a family room too which holds our old furniture pieces.  So I started to pray for it knowing that if God wanted me to have it, He would provide.
I found the chairs first.  They were $20 each.  Then this past Thursday, I found the Highback sofa.  It was $450.  I share the price because in total it was $490 which we couldn't find a new sofa for that!
This furniture is solid.  The man that sold me the sofa said they barely used it, and he wasn't lying either!  It's like brand new!
Here are some before and after shots.  Again the before pics were taken on the day we had an  inspection for this house.

I just finished painting these doors.  I really like them painted!
We still would like to build a mantle around the fireplace and add some crown molding down the road.
See you next week as we enter the dining room!
